'Night encounter, far from the cities' Acrylic on board, 1995. (sold)

In this pic, the expected roles of fear are reversed. The frightening looking creature on the left, is actually frightened. The creature wears a torn and tattered suit and tie, with dollar signs on the tie, and mobile phone in pocket. He turns out to be someone from the city who is utterly afraid of being lost in the forest. He stumbles desperate with fear across another figure sitting by a fire. This second naked figure is totally at peace with his surroundings, and although he must have heard the city man crashing through the forest, he is not afraid and does not even need to turn and look at him coming. His knowledge of his surroundings has eliminated his fear.
