With this painting came the arrival of something new in my work. There is a lighter feel, things float literally and metaphorically, there are wings, there is less pain, less seriousness yet there remains something meditative, spiritual and zen-like. Stylistically it has something in common with my angry young man period in its playfulness but without the anger and the darkness.
