This was my first painting, which I was forced to do for homework. I hated the idea, but as you can see, I quickly began to change my mind. Twenty-four years later it seems that many of the elements that make up my paintings are still the same as in this very first work; There is a strongly defined sky with a life of its own, drama in a stage-like setting, a sense of space and expanse and solitary figures standing alone in an empty landscape, together yet apart... (house, windmill and tree) |
