PURE LARD Inspired by a real life window in a studio, this sunny scene greeted me often. The little plastic horse often seems to be longing for the fields outside. The plaque on the window sill which reads "a heartbeat, in an egg, in a nest, in a tree" reminds us that life is hidden and pulsing everywhere. Even though a painting is itself an illusion based on memory and projection, I like an idea to take the mind out of a painting yet again, to a place somewhere else. I wouldn't want anyone to feel trapped in one of my paintings. |
