Dead hare explaining life to an artist
This painting was inspired by a 1950's advertisement for a Chrysler Royal. The landscape is my own creation based on the typical small town desert scenes to be found in northern South Australia. The title is a reference to the famous performance piece by Joseph Beuys, 'Explaining paintings to a dead hare'. Interestingly, a few days after deciding to paint the hare, a small rabbit died in my hands after being found injured in a field.
