ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?
This image is taken from a dream (nightmare) of a friend, where she asked Jesus to come and take her away. Although Jesus was being kind by answering her and coming to the rescue, he was kind of scary too, and what's more she realised she did not want to be taken away, and in fact was not happy now. I was also fascinated by 1950's American Christian art, where there was a very strange attempt to synthesize the historical white Jesus in flowing robes and long hair from 2000 years ago, with a modern world of happy families in tidy suburbs, new cars and crisp suits. It really made for some strange pictures...
