plane of the ecliptic stereoscopic 3D image

This is a stereoscopic 3D image.
Here is the technique for viewing it with the unaided eye:
Sitting at your normal screen viewing distance with your head in the centre of the screen, look between the two images at the white space between them. Now gradually cross your eyes until the two images come together and a third image appears between two outer images. It may take some time, but suddenly your eyes will click into focus and see the 3D image sharply. Make certain your head is level, as a slight tilt will make the image blurry. Once you are focused and can see the 3D image, your eyes and mind will learn to ‘lock’ into it, enabling you to look around the image at the various distances within it.

Some people have trouble crossing their eyes without something specific to focus on, but keep trying as often practice will result in eventual success. When you do see it, the result is quite amazing.

For those with 120hz 3D screens and the electronic polarized glasses by NVIDIA, I will be making the 3D file available soon.

Note: Crossing your eyes is not bad for them, as whenever we view anything up close this is exactly what our eyes are doing.
