'...and all in the end is harvest'
Harvest is death and life at once. It is an ending and a new beginning, it is a symbol of endless cycle. To me, the harvester in this image also has a tangible presence, like it is alive. I deliberately chose an old harvester for this image, because the working mechanisms were all exposed back then, enhancing the feel of animation and life. The old combine sits here like it is ready to vibrate into clunky, noisy, frightening life at any moment. Because this image is about life and death, some people will see the time of day as sunset, after a day of harvest, and some will see it like I do, as sunrise the next morning...
